Error “Please insert key in the vehicle” BUDS2
First, check if you have the right key.
Due to high demand and the global shortage of microchips, BRP is started shipping some Sea-Doo
watercrafts, Ski-Doo & Lynx to customers with an RF D.E.S.S.™ Key post that does not contain the anti-theft
feature.
Some BRP vehicle model years 2021 and 2022 are without DESS chips in the system, because of the chip
shortage. It’s impossible to add new keys, but you can disable DESS System and start the engine with any
key.
If the vehicle is without a DESS security chip, you will receive a message in the BUDS2:

Add a new key – using the program BUDS2 you can not.
